Sumedha is Head – Building Decarbonisation within the energy programme, where she leads work on building decarbonisation and cooling. With a strong interest in buildings, she also leads research and stakeholder engagement on the role of building sector governance in accelerating the clean energy transition. She works closely with state and local government agencies to implement building efficiency policies and programmes.

Prior to WRI India, Sumedha worked at ICF, providing advisory services on energy-efficient appliances, demand-side management, and low-emissions development projects. She has co-authored book chapters and several articles on climate and energy topics in peer-reviewed journals.
