Sonal is a Programme Lead at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). He supports the Council’s work on Sustainable Cooling wherein his work focuses around supporting the implementation of the India Cooling Action Plan, refrigerant transition, and mitigating heat stress. Sonal has over 15 years of experience in technical and policy research, development and implementation of policies and programmes, performance evaluation and deployment of cleaner technologies and energy options, and capacity building of stakeholders. He is a member of the Indian-Norwegian bilateral environmental cooperation project – “INDEE3”. The project aims to support India’s refrigerant transition through mainstreaming natural refrigerant based cooling and heating solutions, and operationalising lifecycle refrigerant management practices.
