Manisha Mukherjee, PhD in Environmental Science, has over 24 years of experience in Environmental, Climate Change, and Sustainability consulting. She has worked with bilateral and multilateral funding agencies such as ADB, World Bank, GIZ, SDC, DFID, and UN organisations such as UNDP, UNIDO, and ILO on environment, climate change mitigation, adaptation, climate finance, safeguards, and disaster resilience-related issues. She has also contributed to designing innovative financing mechanisms and strategies for climate-smart investments at the state and national levels across different sectors. Further, her experience as a program reviewer in the clean technology innovation ecosystem has deepened her understanding of the critical role that energy efficiency components play in effective decarbonisation strategies. She has led and delivered several assignments pertaining to climate finance. Her understanding of the decarbonisation-energy efficiency-climate finance nexus and on-ground experience in the application of climate technologies enables her to conceptualise and deliver practical implementable solutions. As a mentor in the USISPF and USAID-funded South Asia Women in Energy (SAWIE) programme, she has contributed to the initiative “Navigating the Funding Landscape: Securing Capital for Women-Led Energy Startups in South Asia.”
