Piyush Sharma is an energy professional with over 17 years of experience in designing, implementation and evaluation of policies related to Industrial energy efficiency. He played a pivotal role in implementing the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme for larger industrial entities in partnership with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). Presently, he is working as a Deputy Head of Energy Efficiency projects at GIZ, supporting programmes on District Cooling, carbon market, MSME financing, decarbonization, technology implementation, etc. His professional background encompasses a range of roles including design engineering, commissioning, operations, and efficiency optimization within Thermal Power Plants. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA in Strategy and leadership.
