Net Zero India: Building the momentum with Solar Decathlon India
29 February, 2024
02:30 PM – 04:45 PM
Session Brief
India has a goal of net-zero by 2070, and a commitment to reduce emissions intensity by 45% by the end of this decade. Meanwhile, building construction and operations contribute to nearly 1/3rd of India’s emissions, but infrastructure investors are expecting a revolution through decarbonisation, digitisation, and de-globalisation. India’s commitment and the opportunity it has by being the largest site of urbanisation, infrastructure growth, and innovation, asks for a stocktaking of technical capacity and momentum for decarbonising the building sector.
This session will look for answers to the following questions:
- What policy and industry trends are aimed at buildings’ decarbonisation for 2030?
- What kind of capacity has been built in the last 3 years through Solar Decathlon India?
- How can the policy and industry trends be served through initiatives such as Solar Decathlon India?
